## What we do in Cannock
A regular working area for both electrical and groundworks jobs, well within our daily reach.

### Cannock sits inside our daily working area
From our base on Springhill Road in Burntwood, Cannock is a short run north across the Chase. It is not an outlying area we travel to occasionally; it is part of the central Staffordshire patch we work in continuously, alongside Hednesford, Rugeley and Lichfield.

Practically, that means two things for you. You are not paying for a long journey inside the price, and when we say we will come and look at the job before quoting, we mean within days rather than weeks.

### The property mix in Cannock
Cannock's housing is largely post-war and later: 1950s and 1960s council-built semis, a lot of 1970s–1990s estate development around Heath Hayes, Bridgtown and Cannock Wood, and newer developments filling former industrial and colliery land. That mix produces a very specific pattern of electrical work, boards that are one generation behind current regulations, circuits extended over decades by whoever was handy, and immersion or shower circuits added without the board being reassessed.

The newer stock brings different calls: EV chargers, garden room and home office supplies, outside sockets and lighting, and air conditioning where an extension or conversion catches the sun all afternoon.

### Common jobs here
Consumer unit upgrades and full or partial rewires make up a lot of our Cannock electrical work, along with EICRs for landlords, the town has a substantial private rental market, and fault finding on circuits that trip without an obvious cause. On the groundworks side we are digging extension and garden room foundations, laying and connecting drainage, forming driveway and patio sub-bases, and carting muck away on jobs where there is nowhere to put it.

We work out from 88B Springhill Road, Burntwood, Staffordshire, WS7 4UJ. Whatever the trade, the same things apply: the company is NAPIT registered and F-Gas certified, Sam holds City & Guilds 2391 and the 18th Edition, every other operative holds a CSCS or ECS card, and the work carries a 1-year guarantee on all work. Why us here

## Why customers in Cannock use us
No invented statistics, just what we can stand behind.

### Genuinely local coverage
Cannock is a short drive from our Burntwood base, so travelling time is not padding out your price and we can get out to look at work quickly.

### Two primary trades under one firm
Electrical work and groundworks are both core for us, so an extension or garden room in Cannock can have the dig, the drains and the electrics from the same company.

### 16 years and the paperwork to match
Sixteen years in the trade, NAPIT registered, F-Gas certified, City & Guilds 2391 and 18th Edition, Gold ECS card, CSCS or ECS carded team.

### Insured, certificated, guaranteed
£5m public liability, £10m employers' liability, £250,000 professional indemnity, electrical work tested and certificated, and a 1-year guarantee.

Local conditions

## What comes up in Cannock
Property age, ground conditions and drainage here shape what we find when we open a board or dig a trench.

### Former colliery and industrial land
Much of Cannock's newer housing and commercial development sits on ground that was worked or built on before. Made ground, buried obstructions and inconsistent bearing are real possibilities, which is why we trial-hole before committing to foundation depths rather than pricing an assumed dig.

### Ex-local-authority housing stock
A large part of Cannock's 1950s and 1960s housing has been through more than one round of partial upgrading. It is common to find a newer board feeding original circuits, or mixed cable types in one property. An EICR is the honest way to find out what you are dealing with before you spend money guessing.

### Surface water off the Chase
Ground around the edges of Cannock Chase sheds water quickly onto lower plots. New driveways, patios and extensions need levels and drainage designed for that rather than an assumption that it will soak away, or you move the problem to your own back door.

### Rental compliance deadlines
With a lot of private rental in and around Cannock, landlords regularly come to us close to a deadline with a failed or expired EICR. Remedial work found late is more disruptive and more expensive to fit around a tenancy than the same work found early.

Our process

## How a job in Cannock runs
The same sequence every time, so you know what happens next and when.

- 01

### You call or send details
Phone Sam on 07307 210474 or send the job through the form. Tell us the address, what the problem or plan is, and when you need it done.

- 02

### We look at the job
For anything beyond a small repair we come and look. Guessing at a price from a description helps nobody, and a site visit catches the things a photo hides.

- 03

### You get a price for your job
We work on day rates that vary with the operatives and plant a job needs, so you get a price for your actual job rather than a published figure that never fits.

- 04

### Booked in and carried out
We agree a start date, turn up when we said, and keep you told if anything on site changes what we found.

- 05

### Certified, tidied, guaranteed
Electrical work is tested and certificated, the site is cleared, and the work carries a 1-year guarantee. If something isn't right, you call us and we come back.

Every review below was left for electrical work carried out as Stretton Electrical. We use them as proof of how we work, not as evidence of groundworks, aircon or building jobs.

Straight answers

## Cannock: questions we get asked
Coverage, response times, cost and availability, answered as plainly as we can.

Do you cover Cannock?Yes. Cannock, Heath Hayes, Bridgtown and the surrounding villages are all within our standard working area from Burntwood.

How fast can you get to Cannock? It is a short run from our base, so we can normally arrange to look at a job within days, and smaller electrical jobs can often be booked in the same week.

What does work in Cannock cost?We price on day rates that vary with the operatives and plant a job needs, so we do not publish prices. You get a price for your specific job before we start.

Do you do emergency electrical work in Cannock? We work 8am–6pm Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work, and are not a 24-hour call-out service. For something dangerous out of hours, isolate the circuit at the board and call an emergency electrician, or 105 for a supply problem.

Can you do a fuse board upgrade on an older Cannock house?Yes, and we check the circuits first. Fitting a new board to circuits that will not hold an insulation resistance test just moves the problem, so we test before we quote where we can.

Do you take on groundworks for extensions in Cannock?Yes, foundations, drainage, slabs, muck-away and sub-bases. On former industrial or colliery ground we trial-hole first so the price reflects what is actually down there.

Do you work for landlords in Cannock?Regularly. EICRs, remedial work, board changes and repairs between tenancies, with reports that explain the codes rather than just listing them.

Are you NAPIT registered?Yes, and F-Gas certified for air conditioning work. Sam holds City & Guilds 2391, the 18th Edition and a Gold ECS card.

Is your work insured and guaranteed?£5m public liability, £10m employers' liability and £250,000 professional indemnity, with a 1-year guarantee on the work carried out.

Can you handle both the building work and the electrics? We take on building work occasionally, usually where it sits alongside groundworks or electrical work we are already doing on the same job.
